Starting a Public Weightloss Journal!

Weightloss Goal: 40 lbs.

Ok, so this may start out a little embarrassing but will hopefully become something that I can be proud of. I want to start with the reality of the situation in hopes that it will keep me honest with myself. Also by making it public it puts pressure on me to keep at it.

I weighed myself on Monday the 26th of January. Boy was that depressing! Anyway, my first day at the gym (Aerofit) was yesterday and my goal is to go at least 3 times a week. My experience in a gym is limited because in the past I excercised by walking around the neighborhood or playing tennis. There was an occasional home work out video but those never really lasted very long.

So I went to the gym yesterday and I thought that it would be good just to start with some cardio. I like the treadmill but every single one was occupied. So I climbed on the eliptical trainer. It is freakin' hard for an out of shape fatso like me! I could only go for like 10 minutes and I looked like one of the people on the treadmill that had been running for 30 minutes. I noticed there was a treadmill open at that time so wobbled over there. My legs felt like jello! I started on a "Weightloss Program" on the treadmill. I think it switches in and out of elevation levels and speed. I only walked for 15 minutes on there. I had to stop because I started getting lightheaded. I checked my pulse and it was at 171! No wonder. So I learned that I need to start with a little less "intense" of a workout.

I feel good that I am making a choice to stop making excuses about my weight. I am learning to make healthy choices. I want to set a good example for my children, not only with what comes out of my mouth but with what I put into it also. They need to see their Mommy and Daddy eating fruits and veggies!

So hopefully you can encourage me with advice or healthy recipes or just an encouraging word. And if you need to lose some weight than hopefully my blogging will encourage you to take the first step. Be Happy and Healthy!

    You are brave woman putting this out there public....way to go!
    You can do is hard and takes time to do it right. I have a treadmill at home gathering dust and I need to get my booty back on it! You will insprire me!! :o)
